The nose on this wine displays a slight herbal note with aromas of pineapple and apricot, followed by flavours of nectarine, fig and honey on the palate. A well-balanced, fresh, crisp wine that is perfect to enjoy on its own or with food.
Pair with seafood, also a great match with sushi.

This wine comes primarily from 20-year old vines in our Similkameen Vineyard in Cawston and a small portion is from our Sunrise Vineyard in Okanagan Falls. The 2007 season started off with nice warm weather early in the spring, which was followed by a cooler period through mid-May, which in turn gave way to the nice hot summer we are accustomed to in the Okanagan. The warmth allowed the grapes to fully ripen. A cooler September helped develop good fruit flavours and acidity. The grapes were hand-harvested on October 20th, a week and a half earlier than usual.

Semillon is a Bordeaux varietal that tends to be used primarily for blending. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed to ensure the fruit flavours and aromas were not tampered with and to bring some additional complexity from the skins. Then the juice underwent a cool ferment in stainless steel tanks for two weeks.

"Using 20-year old vines and lower tonnage per acre allows for greater fruit intensity. This creates a fruit-forward wine with notes of pineapple, nectarine and peach complemented by smooth acidity and a fresh finish."
