The grapes come from our Similkameen Vineyard in Cawston and from our Sunrise Vineyard in Okanagan Falls. The 2006 season started off with light steady rain in the spring followed by ideal summer weather with a short-lived heat wave at the end of July. It continued relatively warm into late Septembe, which provided us with an extended growing season that allowed the grapes to further develop flavours and acidity. The grapes were hand-harvested the second week of October.

The grapes were whole-cluster pressed to extend the fruit flavours and characteristics from the berries. A portion, 40%, of the pressed juice then went through a cool ferment in stainless steel. The remaining 60% was barrel fermented. The oaked portion went through a malolactic fermentation and was left on the lees for 8 months, providing the wine with a rich, creamy finish.

"A traditional French-style Chardonnay, with aromas of hazelnut and pear balanced with a creamy soft finish. This is a rich and luscious full-bodied Chardonnay."
