T A S T I N G N O T E S
The nose on the wine displays slight herbal notes and aromas of pineapple and apricot, with flavors of nectarine, fig and honey on the palate. Smooth acidity in the finish, that creates a lingering fruity finish and coats the mouth with an creamy-like feel. This is a well-balanced, fresh and fruity wine that is perfect for enjoying now. A great match with halibut and sushi.
G R O W I N G C O N D I T I O N S
This wine comes primarily from 20-year old vines in our Similkameen Vineyard in Cawston and a small portion is from our Sunrise Vineyard in Okanagan Falls. The 2007 season started off with nice warm weather early in the spring, which was followed by a little bit of a cool period through mid-May. The cool weather ended to give way to the nice hot summer weather that we are accustomed to here in the Okanagan. The warmth allowed the grapes to fully ripen and develop. At the end of September, the weather cooled off again and the rain stayed away, which allowed the grapes to develop fruit flavors and aromas. The grapes were hand-harvested on October 20th, a week and a half earlier than usual.

Semillon is a Bordeaux varietal that tends to be used primarily for blending. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed to ensure the fruit flavors and aromas were not tampered with and to bring some additional complexity from the skins. Then the juice underwent a cool ferment in stainless steel tanks for two weeks.
