Peach, green apple and hints of honey invigorate the nose. On the palate there are flavours of honeysuckle and pink grapefruit. Notes of tropical fruit and apricot are balanced with good acidity creating a lush clean finish. Honey and pear undertones in the finish make this wine a perfect pair for spicier cuisine.
G R O W I N G C O N D I T I O N S
This wine comes primarily from 27-year old vines in our Similkameen Vineyard in Cawston and a small portion is from our Sunrise Vineyard in Okanagan Falls. The 2006 season started off with an early spring, which was a nice surprise after a very chilling winter. The spring had relatively warm weather with a little more rainfall especially in May and June. The summer brought along consistent heat and sun that allowed the fruit intensity in the berries to develop. In September and October the weather cooled slightly and near mid-October there was more rain than we hoped for, but overall the temperature stayed relatively warm and the sunny days allowed the grapes to develop the necessary sugar. The grapes were hand-picked on September 29th.

The Riesling in 2006 was a slightly higher tonnage due to the weather, but with the additional hang time allowed the fruit flavors to further develop in the berries. After the grapes were picked they went through a gentle press, with minimal machine interaction, to ensure that there was no astringency in the juice. The juice then went through a cool ferment for two weeks in stainless steel tanks.
