Rich aromas and flavours of dark cherries, raspberries, plum and spice. A well balanced Pinot Noir with elegant tannins that provide a soft silky texture and a long finish.

The grapes come from our Similkameen Vineyard in Cawston and Sunrise Vineyard in Okanagan Falls. The 2008 season started almost 3 weeks later than normal. Summer also arrived later but brought with it warmer temperatures and long sunlight hours. This harvest produced quality wines. The grapes were harvested on October 15th.

The grapes went through a four-day cold soak for good colour extraction and additional complexity from the skins. The juice then went through small batch fermentation to ensure that the fruit was handled very gently and to prevent flavour and aroma loss. Aged for 16 months in new and used French oak barrels.

"The tonnage in the vineyard was very low this year for the Pinot Noir, which brought about intense cherry and plum fruit flavours. To complement the fruit flavours very little oak was used."
